On February 18, 2023 local time, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi attended the 59th Munich Security Conference and delivered a keynote speech in Germany.

Wang Yi said that China and Europe are two major forces, markets and civilizations in an increasingly multi-polar world, and the choices China and Europe make have a huge impact on where the world goes. If the two sides choose dialogue and cooperation, bloc confrontation will not emerge; if the two sides choose peace and stability, a new Cold War will not break out; if the two sides choose openness and win-win, global development and prosperity will have greater hope. It is a responsibility shared by China and Europe, and what they should do in response to the call of history and the needs of the people.
